Designed for the purist, the Carrera T takes every opportunity to shed weight and push the maximum performance out of the staple twin-turbo 3.0L Boxer 6 engine–sending 370 horsepower through the manual 7-speed transmission to the rear wheels. The short-shifter is assisted with rev-matching on downshifts to ensure optimal gear changes and an incredible crescendo of pops and bangs from the active exhaust system. Unlike the base Carrera, you get a limited slip differential and torque-vectoring on the 20mm lower slung chassis. This specific Carrera T comes with the Sport Chrono package, giving you driver selectable modes, dynamic transmission mounts for a less rumble in the cockpit, and a stop watch dead centre on the dash, along with active suspension changing the suspension firmness on-the-fly to suit the road you’re on.

Embodying the tried and true adage; “Simplify, and add lightness”–the Carrera T sheds weight by borrowing from the track-oriented GT2 RS. It trims the fat through borrowing the former’s thinner glass all over, nylon straps in place of the door handles, and cutting certain bits of sound insulation. Less insulation allows a symphony of high-revving roars and turbo spool falsetto to resonate in the cabin for the ultimate driving experience, whether you’re pulling off a light or speeding up for a merge–with key spots of insulation still in place so the 911 is not droning when you’re cruising on the highway.

This specific 911 sheds even more weight with the full carbon-fibre bucket seat package, which also removes the rear seats to bring the overall weight from the standard 911’s 3,418lbs, to a nimble 3,142. Combined with a fire extinguisher in the front and Racing Yellow stitching and seatbelts, the 2019 Carrera T is built to perform.
